Handling and Stevedoring

It is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling all handling and stevedoring activities related to port operations. It includes the following Sections:
This includes loading, stowing, unstowing and unloading cargos, as well as loading and unloading cargos in sheds, on land and in warehouses. Handling is carried out by trained personnel. It operates day and night, divided into two shifts from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a third shift running from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.. In exceptional cases, the third shift may extend to 7 a.m.

2) Stevedoring: A for tasks
        * For cargos:

  • Receiving cargos.
  • Transfer to goods storage areas.
  • Preservation or safekeeping of goods on land or in sheds.
  • Batch marking .Delivery to customers.

  • * For service:
    Gather all information relating to the evaluation of ship handling at berth and the estimation of their outbound time, as well as the availability of open areas and sheds.

    *For storage:
    Participate in the Ship Placement Conference (SPC) to decide on the entry of vessels and collect orders from customers (teams and equipment) for the treatment of their ships.

  • -Rescue assistance for ships and craft in peril.
  • -Tugboat rental, refueling and equipment transport.

Tasks :

  • Leasing and rental of land, warehouses, offices, buildings, installations and land for industrial or commercial use.
  • Ship waste removal and berth sanitation.

It is responsible for port safety, as well as the proper regulation of ship movements and the safeguarding of port structures.
